The gem studio
Pratt student work
For a product design course, we were challenged to create a rigid box for high end products. I choose The Gem Studio, a jewelry studio founded around 2017 in Utah that focuses on timeless statement pieces.
The Gem Studio is a hands-on jewelry workshop brand where customers don’t just buy jewelry, they make it themselves. The company centers around interactive experiences where you can make rings, bracelets, bolo ties, and more. Since The Gem Studio is a workshop packaging is only given to online orders. Current packaging is simple and not brand specific.
My project is specifically for bolo ties. Bolo ties need to be kept separately from other jewelry pieces to avoid tangles or scratches on the bezel and the gem.
